Circuit Breakers

Circuit Breakers is our comedian development project and features some of the best emerging comedians in the UK. This competition is for anyone who has maybe been gigging for a little while and is ready to make it a more regular thing and break into the big time! 

We have been running the project for 8 years and have loved every minute of it – seeing some really talented comedians take part & flourish. Previous Circuit Breakers have included Sian Davies, Charlie George and Shalaka Kurup.

Successful applicants usually perform as part of two Circuit Breakers showcase events - this year they are at Big Difference on the middle weekend of the festival (13th & 14th of February 2026). They will also have the chance to attend a networking breakfast and a photo shoot with legendary comedy photographer Andy Hollingworth.
