Circuit Breakers is our comedian development project and features some of the best emerging comedians in the UK. This competition is for anyone who has maybe been gigging for a little while and is ready to make it a more regular thing and break into the big time!
We have been running the project for 7 years and have loved every minute of it – seeing some really talented comedians take part & flourish. Previous Circuit Breakers have included Sian Davies, Charlie George and Shalaka Kurup.
Successful applicants usually perform as part of two Circuit Breakers showcase events at Peter Pizzeria on the middle weekend of the festival. They will also have the chance to attend a networking breakfast and a photo shoot with legendary comedy photographer Andy Hollingworth.
Criteria for entry to Circuit Breakers 2025
To qualify for application to Circuit Breakers, you must fit the following criteria:
- You don't have a full hour long solo show
- You are not already regularly doing paid spots across the UK comedy circuit (fine if it is in your home town)
- You don't have an agent or a manager
Applications for 2025 will open on Monday 21st October & will close on Friday 15th November.
