About our festivals
Leicester Comedy Festival and The UK Kids' Comedy Festival are delivered by Big Difference Company. Big Difference Company is a registered charity that promotes comedy and comedy performance as a way of educating and inspiring people Our festivals are open access which means that anyone can perform at them. As long as you have a venue and you have registered your show on our system you can be part of our festivals.
In fact the majority of the Festival programmes are delivered by other organisations and promoters including De Montfort Hall, TripleCeePee, the Black Horse Laughter Loft and Jokes on Us. In 2025 we had a record breaking number of shows at the festival with over 750 registering to take part.
In addition to hosting a huge number of comedians and comedy acts we also pride ourselves on the variety of venues that take part including non traditional comedy venues. In the past, shows have ran in hotel rooms, breweries, cafes, libraries, book shops and train stations.
