The UK Pun Championships

The annual UK Pun Championships attracts hundreds of festival goers each year and takes place in a boxing ring at De Montfort Hall. Celebrating the best of the British pun, contestants go head to head, punning against each other in rounds until the final two are left to battle it out in the final. The ultimate punner is decided by way of whoops and cheers from the audience.

Applications for 2026 have now closed. Information for 2027 will be published here in Autumn 2026.
